Ed DeChellis – College Basketball – Penn State

March Madness is here!  It’s the stretch run of college basketball’s regular season. One of the teams fighting for an NCAA tournament berth is the Nittany Lions of Penn State. They haven’t qualified for the NCAA Tournament since 2001.

On this edition of Sports Spectrum Today, we will talk with Penn State head coach Ed DeChellis.

He talks about trying to keep his team focused on the regular season and not looking ahead to the post-season. Penn State will play Illinois at home on Thursday night this week. Then, they close out the season at Iowa on Saturday afternoon.

In addition, it’s been a slow rebuilding job for basketball at Penn State. Ed talks about how he continues to be patient in his philosophy of building the program the right way. He’s also a cancer survivor and he tells us how that event has impacted his life.
