On Sports Spectrum we salute sports moms across the country.

First, we talk Major League Baseball with one of the most underrated relief pitchers in the game, Matt Capps of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Matt and the improved Pirates are out to turn baseball around in Pittsburgh.

Our Sports Spectrum chaplain, Bill Crowder has a few words to say about sports moms. He shares what we can learn from one of the most famous “moms” in the Bible.

We also hear from Gwen Diaz, the mother of a Major League outfielder. Gwen raised four sons, including Atlanta Braves left fielder, Matt Diaz. Gwen shares a few principals she’s learned while raising her family.

And, we visit with the wife of an NFL assistant coach and mother of three, Debbie Christensen. In today’s transient society, Debbie shares what she’s found to be the key to keeping her children growing spiritually, even in times of transition and mobility.

We also take your phone calls. Tell us a favorite sports memory of your mother.

Don’t miss a salute to mom on the next Sports Spectrum.
