Sports Spectrum Week In Review – Audio Blog

Game seven matchups prevail in the NBA playoffs with the Magic and Celtics and the Lakers and Rockets going the distance to decide who will move on. On the ice, the Red Wings and Hurricanes advance to the conference finals and could this be the last running of the Preakness in Baltimore?

Baseball, Hockey, Basketball & College Football

It is a full hour on Sports Spectrum this Saturday.  We talk about real issues in sports and life in the NHL, the NBA, and Major League Baseball.

The most pressurized spot on a Major League field is the third-base coach’s box. We talk with the third-base coach of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Tony Beasley. Tony tells us why he has to be thinking a play or two ahead of every game situation. We’ll also hear how coaching is a ministry for the man they call "Rev" in the Bucco’s clubhouse.

We catch up on the latest from the NHL playoffs in a conversation with former player Mark Osborne. Mark shares his observations on which teams will make the Stanley Cup Finals.

Slumps are a part of life for every athlete. Slumps and adversity are also a part of everyday life. Sports Spectrum chaplain Bill Crowder joins us to share how we can experience joy in the midst of trials.

It’s also a big weekend in the NBA playoffs. We check in on the latest stories from around the league with the television voice of the Orlando Magic, David Steele.

And, if you are the parent of a high school or middle school football player you will not want to miss our visit with Dale Weaver. Dale is with the All American Football Skills Academy and shares how a football combine can help a youngster gain exposure for college scholarships.

We have a great hour of sports, real-life issues, and faith prepared for you—it’s Sports Spectrum Saturday.
