Steve-Lloyd-Jones

A native of Pentwater, Michigan, Steve grew up as the son of a minister. A love for sports in high school eventually led to his involvement in sports broadcasting while in college at Central Michigan University from 1995-1997. Upon graduation, Steve came to Grand Rapids to begin work at WBBL 1340 AM, an all-sports station.

Steve continued his duties with WBBL and AM 1300 WOOD while also getting started in play-by-play coverage. He handled announcing duties for the Grand Rapids Hoops of the CBA, Cornerstone University’s men’s basketball, the West Michigan Whitecaps of the Midwest League (Detroit Tigers affiliate), and Grand Valley State University.

In the summer of 2007, Steve officially joined the staff of Grand Valley as director of broadcasting where he oversaw all sports broadcasting content for the athletic department. Steve joined the Sports Spectrum team in March 2011.

Steve has been married to Penny since 2000, and they have three children.
