God has a Top 10 list too. The ten laws or commandments are really the most basic things a person should do just to be a decent human being. Don’t kill, steal, or lie are just a few. But we fail to master the ten rules. God’s guidelines are too tough, too hard. Like trying to hit a major league fastball. We strike out. In Matthew 22:37–40 Jesus summed up the ten rules into two important ones. First, love God with all your heart, soul, and mind. Second, love your neighbor as yourself. Still, those are pretty hard to do.
Second Timothy 3:16 says that the Bible can teach, correct, and train you to be the person God wants you to be. In sports or life, there are some things that will be too hard for you to do. But what God wants you to do comes with a training program guaranteed to work. It’s in the Bible.
